Scarf

One young man had a desire for “grandma’s scarf” meaning that he wanted the kind of scarf like those that his grandmother used to knit for him. As he wished, I knit him a black and white striped scarf. Now, around 7 years later, the scarf is still in use.

Bedclothes for a doll’s bed

Some years ago a little girl got a bed for her dolls for christmas. I was asked to sew bedclothes for that little bed for that christmas. The fabric has small flowers printed on it. There is lace on the edge of the duvet cover. I also made a pillow that fits in the pillow case, and a blanket that goes inside the cover – full set :)

Red bag

I was asked to sew a bag. The wish was inspired by the blue velvet bag that I had made for myself earlier. The bag came about as a co-creation of me and the person who ordered the bag – her desires and the ideas that sprouted in me. It was a fun and miraculous process. The evolution of this bag went on as I was touching materials in the stores, while keeping in mind the wishes of the person who ordered the bag. New ideas were born, some of which remained surprises for the current owner of the bag. As a result of this there was more work to be done, than I planned in the beginning, but the bag strongly insisted on becoming the kind like it now did, so I just couldn’t leave things out and undone :) For example, I made a rain-cover for the bag, to make the bags life better in the rainy Netherlands.  It was an extremely fun co-creation and project :) The owner of the bag is also very happy!

Feedback:
The process we had together brought me much; how much fun it is to create something together, even virtually. And how I would love to have much more money so I can pay lots more to designers and other creative folks to make things for me. So much more fun and beauty and expansiveness than the bulk stuff you mostly can buy nowadays. I wish for you you have so much more of these assignments!

Black velvet bag

I made a cotton velvet bag for Becky. On the front side of the bag there is a pocket with a zipper. The pocket and the lining of the bag are made of silk.

Feedback from Becky:
I bought the bag from Kristi. It was custom made to fit my laptop; and had a pouch for the accessory that goes with it. And I have to say that I’m very impressed! Everything fits perfectly and the quality of the bag is amazing: not a single seam is out of place. It is quite perfect in every way and the fabric is divine!

Blue velvet handbag

I made me a cotton velvet handbag with changeable handles and the possibility to change the length of the handle. In addition, there can be a ribbon tied around the bottom edge of the bag, for example the same colour as the handle. My idea was to use a handle and ribbon of the same hue that my clothing has, for more harmony. The lining is made of cotton fabric and there are some pockets inside.

All pictures below are made of the same bag.

Bag of/for prosperity and abundance :)

Today, one of my very best friends has her birthday :) She’ll be 24. Some days ago I was thinking of what to give her as a gift. I thought, I’ll give her money, then she can buy what she desires the most :) I came to think that I’ll give her 24€ – one for each year. Then I thought I’ll give them in 1€ coins :) And I started wondering about how to package it. I came to an idea of creating a little bag of and for abundance for her :)

Thanks to Signiti I could print/press some text on the bag :)

On one side it says “Ullabriti külluse kukkur” which means “Ullabritt’s little bag of prosperity” and on the other side it says “Rõõmu ja tänuga” which means “with Joy and Gratitude”. The latter idea meaning that whenever she adds to the bag – receives – or when she gives from the bag, she always ought to do it with Joy and Gratitude :) And thus staying in the place where she feels being prosperous and abundant :)

Here it is:

I’m already having two more of such bags in making ;)

Long DROPS jacket in garter st with hood

That’s how they call it.

The instructions can be found here.

I used Andes yarn instead of Eskimo. Colour “moss green” #7810. I used 9 mm needles.

I used the width measures for M size and the length measures for S size. I don’t have side seams – I knit it all from one front middle line through the back to the other front middle line. I knit the sleeves on to the armholes – reversed the instructions for the sleeves, and knit in circles. I changed the shape of pockets – I started with 13 stitches and then increased only 5 times on both sides (all together 23 stitches). I crocheted the pockets on the jacket.
